It is with great pride and honor that we bring to you the latest edition of Dance Mogul Magazine. This issue features Jean Lloret, also known as B-Boy Bebo. In our exclusive interview with Jean, he shares his rich dance history with our readers, and how he hopes to help inspire up-and-coming dancers all over the world. The issue also speaks to the importance of celebrating culture and community, and how when properly used can boost community esteem and inspire our younger generation. As we look to provide inspiration for the youth, it goes without saying that we also honor those who came before us and helped to pave the way for us to do the things we are able to do today. April 15th was chosen as our release date in celebration of the world-famous actor Sidney Poitier being the first African American to win an Academy Award for Best Actor, on April 15, 1964, for his role in Lilies of the Field. This was 50 years ago, at a time when African Americans were barely seen on the big screen. Mr. Poitier has left an honorable legacy; one that’s filled with dignity and respect, a legacy rich in the arts, and a legacy that makes us proud. For this reason and more, we celebrate him and thank him.
